Belmont Baptist Church

Our Purpose
It is our purpose to worship and glorify God and His son Jesus Christ, learn His Word, and teach it to others. To pray for one another and lift one another up and to encourage one another in their faith and daily life with the Lord. To work together to reach out to those who are in desperate need of a life changing relationship with God and His son Jesus Christ.

Who we are
We are an Independent, Baptist Church in Spotsylvania County, Virginia, which believes and teaches the fundamentals of the Christian Faith. We are a loving family of people working towards the common goal of teaching people the Word of God and allowing Him to change them through His word. We love the people of our community, and desire for them to be changed by a real encounter with Jesus Christ!

Our history
Belmont Baptist Church was founded over 50 years ago by men and women of God who desired a place to worship, teach and preach the fundamental truths of the Word of God. It has stayed the test of time and has remained a shining light for the Lord. Come be apart of our church and it's future.

What we offer
We provide a loving, family friendly envoirment to come and learn about God, his son Jesus Christ and to worship and experience his presence. We have custom fit ministries for all age groups: adult, youth, children and even nursery and Sunday school classes for all ages. We also provide children’s church, where your child can have Church with children their own age and still hear the word of God taught in a way they can relate. We also have a fun and exciting Wednesday night Bible Club called, "AWANA", an active youth group, and Bible Study and prayer time.

What we believe
1. We believe that the entire Bible, from Genesis 1:1 to Revelation 22:21, is the verbally, inspired and infallible   Word of God to man.

2. We believe in the Trinity: that is God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, are all co-equal with all the attributes of God and these three are one.

3. We believe in the literal Genesis account of creation and we reject the theory of evolution.

4. We believe that Jesus Christ is God revealed in the flesh, was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, was buried and rose again bodily from the grave three days later, was seen of men, ascended into heaven and is coming again to gather his people and to judge the world.

5. We believe that all people are sinners by nature and sinners by choice; and that we cannot do anything in and of ourselves to reach God or be counted worthy to enter into his presence.

6. We believe that Jesus died a voluntary, sacrificial death on the cross for our sins, that we may be saved and be counted worthy to enter into God's presence through him.

7. We believe that salvation is by God’s grace and not by any works that man can do. It is a free gift of God given to all that will come unto Him through faith in Jesus and his sacrificial death on the cross.

8. We believe all who come to Jesus in faith, have been given “eternal life,” and are eternally secure in Jesus Christ, and they will never perish.

9. We believe that hell is a literal place of eternal punishment which awaits every unrepentant sinner that
rejects Jesus Christ. And there is also a glorious eternal home in heaven that awaits every one that has received Jesus Christ as their Saviour.

10. We believe that Jesus Christ left his visible Church with the command to go into ALL the world and preach the Gospel to every creature, to baptize them in the name of the father, the Son and the Holy Ghost and to teach them and train them in the ways of God.

11. We believe that Christ will come again in Person, bodily and visibly as promised.  First to come “for” His saints to rapture (snatch) us away.  Then after the seven year tribulation period He will come “with” His saints to fight the battle of Armageddon and to establish His Kingdom on the earth.
